This resource includes a ppt presentation I prepared to teach the new Edexcel International GCSE 9-1 for my Year 11 group. As the textbook isn’t great, I some resources to combine with working on the textbook. This is a particularly challenging topic on the textbook, so what’s on this ppt starts reviewing sport and adds some difficulty afterwards. I did not follow the textbook much when teaching this topic. On my online shop you will find most of the textbook topics belonging to this spec.

A resource created for pupils taking the Edexcel Spanish IGCSE 9-1 exam to train their grammar skills so that they can tackle the 10-point question with confidence and success. This bundle was specifically created for a very able, top set - good news is that it’s easily adaptable and so you can tweak it to your own pupils’ needs. The ppt includes 8 grammar questions (including a range of tenses such as present continous, imperfect tense, present subjunctive) and a cheat sheet for each of them to give pupils the chance to get extra support to look should they need it. Topics are: Los viajes escolares Los planes de futuro Las normas del instituto Mi infancia y adolescencia La vida en un pais hispanohablante El medio ambiente El trabajo voluntario La tecnologia I personally have done these questions with my year 11s before the final mocks and towards the end of the year, before they go on study leave.

A nice differentiated pair speaking task where student A and B take turns to test each other in the understanding of topic vocabulary. Suitable for the GCSE topic of special occasions and festivities. Student A has a set of 15 sentences to review the topic of special occasions and festivals that student B needs to answer correctly in order to move up the ladder, one at a time. A has the correct translations of these sentences. Student B has another set of 15 sentences (with the meaning as well) to test A.

A ppt which covers the relevant language to teach Module 1.4 '¿Cómo te fue?’ from the Viva 2 textbook. You will find vocabulary for students to be able to say how their holiday was using both ‘lo pasé’ and ‘fue’ with a range of adjectives and subsequent reasons to justify these opinions. This is the last sub-unit within Module 1, so it will build on previous knowledge. You will find relevant vocabulary for students to be able to talk about types of movies and give an opinion on them using a range of adjectives the textbook doesn’t provide. The near future tense is recapped with a few activities and there are opportunities to use it verbally and in writing in the wrap-up paragraph at the end of the unit. You will find plenty of vocabulary for students to be able to give opinions on stuff they like and dislike and why (to stretch high attainers), adding recycled language from previous years (free-time activities) on top of what the textbook offers. This resource introduces mealtimes and reviews telling the time; students then will practise talking about what they eat on a typical day and when exactly. You will find plenty of vocabulary for students to be able to talk at length about food & drink, say what they like and dislike and why, say what they like eating/drinking/having and why, a range of adjectives to describe food & drink, and the introduction of the direct object pronoun to stretch high attainers. It looks at a restaurant menu and creates an opportunity for students to create their own and learn about some typical Spanish foods. By the end of the lesson, students will have a range of key phrases to be able to order at a restaurant with confidence. Resource includes a range of starter activities, too. You will find plenty of reflexive verbs for students to be able to talk at length about how they get ready in general. A number of activities are provided to work on the conjugation of reflexive verbs in the present tense in depth, so that they can include other people. You will find plenty of vocabulary for students to be able to reject a plan using a range of excuses, as well as to be able to propose a plan in detail, adding where to meet and at what time. This topic really is a continuation of Module 4.1 Te gustaria ir al cine? which touches up on accepting and rejecting plan. This resource is also available on my shop. You will find an extended list of clothing vocabulary as well as a recap of the colours (adjective agreement) so that students can describe what they wear and how often. A very short lesson that’s been designed to introduce students to se puede + infinitive phrases so that they can make a presentation / leaflet-type project based on a Spanish speaking city of their own choice where they talk about what you can do in said place. Lesson starts with a few examples of things you can do in 2 different places, then over to the students. Handouts with vocabulary and instructions are provided. A different way of ending the year!

Students can start learning vocab related to types of houses, locations, adjectives to describe their home and houseparts with different online websites (QR codes included), then practise describing their house with different activities and skills.
